Scott learned to ride 40 years ago on the fire trails of the Black Hills and still enjoys to ride. In 2015 he completed his Motorcycle Safety Foundation Instructor Training and Harley-Davidson Riding Academy Instructor Development Training. More recently Scott completed the Idaho Star Insturctor Training when the South Dakota Safety Council transitioned to the new curriculum in 2016. Scott continues to instruct for the South Dakota Safety Council as well as the Harley-Davidson Riding Academy.

Chase is a recent college graduate with a degree in History and Political Science with a focus on Japenese and East Asian Studies. Chase has been riding for 8 years and started teaching the state course in 2017 and became a Riding Academy Instructor in 2018. He rides a 2002 Triumph Bonneville America and loves to ride on country roads during the cool hours of the morning and evening.

I, like most people, started riding anything with two wheels, and then anything with a motor attached. My mother was pretty strict and the only thing I could own as an early teen was a 1980 Honda Express which got me to and from baseball practice from the country.
I was 28 before I bought my very first bike which was a 1995 Honda CBR900RR. I wish I would have had some training before I bought a brand new bike as I scratched up that right fairing pretty good while enrolled in the school of hard knocks.
In 2016 I got a small cruiser, traded that in for a 2015 Road King in January of 2017, in July of that year, I traded that in for a 2017 Road Glide Special, and in Spring of 2020, I upgraded that to my 2020 Road Glide Limited that I have now. I’ve been able to ride at least one day a month since May of 2016 and I plan on keeping that streak alive.
Last year I decided I wanted to teach motorcycle safety, and soon after that I became a Riding Academy Coach. I have a passion for helping others find the freedom and joy that riding a motorcycle can bring.
